Allan earned a B.S. and M.S. in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism from the University of Utah. He was on staph with NYSC as the outdoor recreation coordinator for six summers in the 90’s. Allan has worked as a land use consultant, water education coordinator for the State of Utah, and a natural resources faculty member at the University of Maryland. He is the co-founder of Marovo Medical Foundation and coordinates their medical mission activities in the Solomon Islands. His experiences have recently been published (June 2014) in his book, Paradise Under the Knife: A Wild Adventure in Tropical Medicine and International Intrigue. International humanitarian work has provided Allan with more fulfillment than he could have ever imagined.
