Congratulations Erin Harper!

Erin Nicole Harper joins hers sister as the second representative of New Hampshire! After graduating from the Academy for Science and Design, Erin plans to pursue Medical Science at the University of Edinburgh. Erin is an AP Scholar and National Merit Commended Students. Active in dance, Erin also enjoys biking, reading and traveling. Erin hopes to have the opportunity to learn yoga this summer.

Congratulations Samantha Harper!

Samantha Elis Harper will be representing New Hampshire this summer alongside her sister! Coming to us from Hollis where she attends the Academy for Science and Design, Samantha plans to attend the University of St. Andrews to study Mathematics and Biology. Samantha holds several awards, including the New Hampshire STEM Scholar. She enjoys traveling, reading and photography and is active in speech and debate and dance.  Samantha hopes to learn yoga, archery or even fencing this summer!

Congratulations Matías Ramos Gomez!

Matías Ramos Gomez is representing Chile at this summer’s NYSC! Matías will be traveling from Santa Monica, Coquimbo where he attends The International School La Serena with plans to attend Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile next. Matías is highly awarded in Chile’s Science and Math Olympiads. Among his interests, Matías plays soccer, participated in the Student Government, and is interested in music and even is part of a Rock Band. While at camp this summer, Matías would like to learn how to play other instruments and would like to learn meditating.

Congratulations Mauricio Gallegos Leal!

Mauricio Gallegos Leal will be representing the state of South Carolina at this summer’s National Youth Science Camp. He joins us from Spartanburg where he currently attends Dorman High School with plans to study Biochemistry at Clemson Honors College in the fall. Mauricio is active in his school Varsity Soccer team and the SC Region 2 All-Academic Soccer Team (among many other honors). Additionally, Mauricio volunteers his time at the Salvation Army  and enjoys spending time with friends and family and attending church. Mauricio hopes to continue learning the guitar this summer.

Congratulations Narisse Trippel!

Narisse Trippel of Wyoming will be joining us this summer from Worland where she attends Worland High School. Narisse plans to major in Engineering at the the University of Wyoming in the fall. A recipient of a multitude of STEM awards, Narisse is also highy honored in the arts. Narisse stays busy with Choir, Drama, Cross Country and Jazz Band, just to name a few activities. Narisse plays violin, piano and sings and enjoys photo editing, hiking, video games and running in her spare time. Narisse is interested in lending her skills this summer to teach bird-watching, vegan diet and cooking, creative writing or photography basics.

Congratulations Ben Cruz!

Benjamin “Ben” Cruz represents Tennessee this summer, coming to us from Chattanooga. Ben attends Ooltewah High School with plans to attend the The University of Tennessee to major in Biosystems Engineering to pursue a career as an Agricultural Engineer. His honors include the National Honor Society and being selected as a Haslam Scholar for the 2016 cohort. Among his many activities, Ben is involved in his church, Interfaith Society, Math Club and Model UN. Ben enjoys, sports, chess, gardening, hiking and more!

Congratulations Rachel Huang!

Rachel Huang represents Wyoming this summer at the National Youth Science Camp.  Currently residing in Laramie, Rachel is a student of Laramie High School. Rachel is active in her school band, the Orchestra, basketball, swimming and volleyball. A member of the National Honor Society, Rachel will be graduating with honors this year.

Congratulations George Herrera Ortiz!

George David Herrera Ortiz will be joining us from Quito, Ecuador this summer! George is a current student of Albert Einstein High School and will pursue a career as a Computer Programmer after college. George is very talented musician and even represented Ecuador in Berlin, Germany as a pianist where he played with legendary jazz pianist, Herbie Hancock and famous classical pianist, Lang Lang! As a songwriter, George was a semifinalist in the International Songwriting Competition in Nashville, TN (2014). He also enjoys acting , basketball and other sports.  We can’t wait to hear some of George’s talent this summer!

Congratulations Morgan Fabber!

Morgan Fabber represents the state of Tennessee at this summer’s NYSC. Coming to us from Murfreesboro, Morgan currently is a student of Blackman High School. Morgan plans to major in Chemistry at Vanderbilt University in the fall. Morgan is very active in her school, involving herself in Choir (singing soprano), Drama, Science Bowl, Freshman Mentoring and more! Morgan is also a member of the Swing Club and is willing to offer some swing dance lessons to anyone interested this summer! Morgan would like to learn yoga, origami and some outdoor skills.

Congratulations Jenna Ballard!

Jenna Ballard will be joining us this summer from Oswega, New York. Currently attending Oswego High School, Jenna plans to pursue a career in Biomedical Engineering after studying at John Hopkins University.  Jenna is a member of the orchestra where she is trained on piano, cello and violin. Jenna conducts research at SUNY Oswego and is a City Youth Court Judge! This summer, Jenna would like to learn speed Rubik’s cube, dancing, yoga, chess and card games!
